How I create conversation

I was doing it way before it was cool.

Bodies is a new podcast from KCRW. Each episode follows one womxn solving a medical mystery about her own body. As a part of the editorial team on the podcast, I help manage our Facebook group. Painful sex, endometriosis, chronic migraines, mental health: Nothing is off the table, and everyone is welcome.

#whatsmyissue

I worked with four public media stations in California—KPCC in L.A., KQED in San Francisco, CapRadio in Sacramento and KPBS in San Diego—on #whatsmyissue to discuss pressing topics with Californians ahead of the 2016 election. We chatted with more than 500 people about jobs, the economy, health care, climate change and so much more. We collected photos, written responses, videos and audio postcards. After the election, we brought a select group of listeners from different sides of the political spectrum together to talk it out. Here's that video. The video I produced to kick off the project is linked below.

I pitched and helped execute a series on L.A.'s unaffordable rental market. The first installment was this interactive map that showed the percentage of income Angelenos are spending on rent. We crowdsourced submissions using social media and the Public Insight Network, which is a database of sources.
